Graduation & Course Policy

Graduation Credit Requirements

The graduation credit requirements of our MA program are regulated and reviewed regularly by the department faculty. The requirements are different for students who enter the program in different years. Students should find their respective course list and policy sheet to understand the full requirements.

Listed below are the graduation credit requirements for students who entered the MA program after the fall of 2021.

Minimum Graduation Credits: 33

  • Required Credits 12
  • Elective Credits 21

Course & Credit Policy

On Elective Credits

For the elective credits of the MA program, the department has the following credit policy for students who entered after the fall of 2021.

  • Students may have maximum six cross-department elective credits (with consent from department chair or thesis adviser).
  • All cross-department courses taken are considered as the student's elective credits.

General Academic Policy

Students are encouraged to read through the Taipei Tech General Academic Policy 國立臺北科技大學學則, which defines an MA student's rights and responsibilities, including the following:

  • Minimum credits taken per semester: 3
  • Maximum credits taken per semester: 13
  • Maximum years of study: 4 years

English Skill Requirements for Graduation

All MA students are required to compose their thesis in English. Students who fail to do so will not be permitted to graduate, and there is no remedial procedure.
