The English Producers program is a set of extra-curricular activities that are designed to engage students in learning English in a pressure-free setting.

English Producers

English Producers (EP) is beneficial to non-English major students who have plans to take proficiency tests in speaking and writing. We use English proficiency test items as the main training materials. In the speaking sessions, we make a perfect simulation of actual conversations while in the writing sessions, students enhance their basic writing skills. Our team of Teaching Assistants is here to help you. This is not just a test-oriented activity. You are also welcome to join us if you simply hope to develop spoken English fluency and improve English writing. With EP, you can meet people and practice languages. Welcome aboard!

Past Activities

Your English World (previously 'English Corner')

English Corner has been available since 2006 and is still the favorite English activity of many Taipei Tech students. The activity employs faculty members and students of the Department of English for conversation practice with non-English major students on various topics.

Super English League

Super English League offers English tuition to Taipei Tech students who intend to enhance their English language skills and prepare for English proficiency tests. Through weekly tuition, students will be able to improve listening and reading skills essential for TOEIC preparation.

Media Center-hosted Activities

The activities hosted by Taipei Tech Media Center are opened to all students. All of the contests separate participating students into two groups: non-English majors and English majors. Faculty members of the Department of English are normally employed as the judges and reviewers of these contests.

TED Seminars

The TED Seminars were available from Spring 2011 through Fall 2012. Department of English faculty members were employed to introduce ideas and language usages seen in selected TED Talks.

BBC 6 Minute English Tests

The BBC 6 Minute English Tests were available from Fall 2011 through Fall 2012. Students were encouraged to listen to the BBC 6 Minute English program and take tests that were developed by the Department of English faculty members based on the program.

Model United Nations

Taipei Tech has been sending delegates to the National Model United Nations (NMUN) since 2008. At NMUN, college students from all over the world gather and take part in the discussions of various topics using procedures and organizations modeled after the real United Nations.
