Andrew H.C. Chuang

Andrew received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Graduate Institute of Linguistics at National Taiwan University in 2023 and joined the faculty in 2024. His research spans several areas within Cognitive Linguistics, including (socio)pragmatics, functional syntax and construction grammar, linguistic typology, and computational approaches to language analysis. He has also participated in interdisciplinary projects bridging biomedical science and linguistics, particularly those exploring how embodied and somatosensory experiences are encoded in language. Outside academia, he enjoys playing and composing classical and jazz music, has served as a gospel pianist for over 15 years, and is deeply interested in the relationship between language and music.
