I-Chien Chen

I-Chien Chen joined Taipei Tech after receiving her Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, and has been teaching at Taipei Tech since. Her primary research interests center on TELL (technology-enhanced language learning) and constructivism & Vygotskian approaches. She joined MOST and MOE research projects which explores and investigates the influences and effectiveness of TELL on young language learners in remote areas in Taiwan. In addition, she was among the USR (university social responsibility) project leaders and had led students to the remote areas in Taiwan to serve for the betterment. Her most recent research topics are understanding digital natives and digital immigrants in the EFL classroom; and re-examining digital natives' reading strategies on their reading comprehension.
