國立臺灣師範大學英語研究所博士

I am an associate professor in English literature, with particular expertise in eighteenth-century novels, especially the works of Daniel Defoe. The principal focus of my research has considered the intersections between literature, history, and philosophy, and the topics of my study cover such issues as socio-economic concepts in Defoe's fiction and nonfiction works, the narrative techniques in Defoe's works on disaster, gender issues in Defoe's female-centered novels, and postcolonial studies of Defoe. With the intention to build a more comprehensive perspective of the field, my more recent research interests center on the development of the novel in the era and the influences of the early eighteenth-century British female writers on the rise of the genre.
